This small town located in the Loiret department is , has about 500 inhabitants (Chapellois). It is crossed by the Aveyron / which starts near the Castle to the Chatre Champcevrais, and empties into the Loing at Montbouy. This small river irregular, 30km long, was used to turn several mills, which are now becoming homes dwellings.
Aveyron was previously called the Laveron or Lavezon according to research conducted by Jacques Soyer. This name comes from the Latin laboronnum meaning "noisy river"
On entering the village you can see the community pond, privileged place for fishing, not far from there, the architecture of the bridge as well as the laundry room located below.
This rural town in the 1950s had many farmhouses scattered in many hamlets around the village. Nowadays, they have often been restored and converted into holiday homes!
The church of La Chapelle-sur-Aveyron date from the 11th century building with 16th and 17th century. It is dedicated to Saint Loup and Saint-Roch. Inside you can admire two altarpieces painted wood representing these two saints who were supposed to protect from the plague. Another curiosity, the main altar is inlaid with marble 1'église was offered in 1707 by its pastor at the time.
Outside, you can admire its beautiful porch, and a dolmen on the forecourt which until now has not delivered all its secrets.
Beside the church is now City Hall, opened in mid 1990. Previously this was a coffee house, which over the years was transformed into a house.
