Departure by train Friday evening in Chennai We took the Class 2 A / C, are sheets, blankets and air conditioning . After 37 hours of travel we arrived at 3am to Agra. We then visit the Red Fort, built as Taj Mahal by the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan . Some parts are no longer accessible to the public, because the Indians were stealing the precious stones semi embedded in the walls.
Generally Indians do not know how to care for their heritage. In all the monuments there are numerous carvings on the walls, you can even see holes in the marble white patched with concrete .... At the end of the visit, the guide asks us if we were happy with the visit. We respond that, yes, "ah ben in this case we have to pay more," after a period of negotiation we leave Rps 300 instead of 250 Rps , which does not seem enough ...
the afternoon we walk in the bazaar, then visit a mosque. In this an Indian mosque gave us a ride to finally ask ourselves some money, and leaving must be given back the money for djellaba that was used to cover our knees and our tap.
We finish the day at the Mausoleum of Itimad-ud-Daulah, nicknamed the "Baby Taj". It was built before the Taj Mahal, and he has served as a model. Its architecture is much less developed and it is much smaller than the Taj Mahal.
Agra is a city very dirty, only the district Taj Mahal is less clean because it was closed to traffic.
