Located southeast of the town of Nogent-sur-l Vernisson Arboretum National des Barres or today Arbofolia was acquired in 1821 by Philippe André de Vilmorin seed merchant and botanist of the King. The arboretum is in the form of three major collections in which the trees are classified reference either to their geographical origin or botanical family or their ornamental characteristics.

The area of bars is now a growing forest complex.

Since 2004 the arboretum is labeled "Remarkable Garden" and receives over 22,000 visitors per year.
